She was born September 2, 1962 to Richard and Caryol Harlan in Des Moines, Iowa. Shelly is survived by her mother and father, Richard and Caryol Harlan of Summerfield, Florida; daughters, Sarah Grubb of Jasper, Christie Grubb of Rome; son, Nicholas Motley of Gainesville; grandchildren, Kylie Grubb of Jasper, Nyla Grubb of Jasper, Cayden Burrell of Cumming, Sophia Motley of Gainesville; brother, Raoul Harlan and fiance, Carol McDowell of Woodstock; sister and brother-in-law, Tonya and Chip Ward of Flower Mound, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Melanie and Harold Queen of Ocala, Florida; brother, Richard Harlan II of Mobile, Alabama. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 6, 2024 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family will accept donations to help pay medical expenses. Shelly was loved by many and will be missed by all.
