Shirley Ann Goforth passed away on April 5, 2025, at 4:39 pm at Mountain Side Medical Center in Jasper, GA. As a devoted wife and mother, she cherished her family profoundly and loved them with every fiber of her being.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert E. Lee (Buck) Searcy and Agnes Cleo Hamrick Searcy. Her husband of 46 years, Cecil Goforth, and their five children, Vickie Byford (Billy) of Resaca, Scott Wooten of Ludville, Stephanie Wooten of Ludville, Chris Goforth (Kelsey Watson) of Chatsworth, and Natalie McClure (Ed) of Dalton, survive her. Additionally, she is survived by three siblings, including a brother, Rev. James Searcy, and his wife, Geneva, of Knoxville, TN; sisters Joan Dawley and her husband, Ronald of Calhoun and Jackie Searcy of Ludville and her best friend of 40 years, Susan McClure, and her husband, Joey, of Chatsworth, GA., and many many grandchildren and many great grandchildren also survive.
