She was a devoted wife, and loving mother. On August 25, 1963, Sue married the love of her life, Jackie (Jack) Winston Howard in Macon. They settled in Atlanta, where they shared 62 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, mutual support and resilience, raising four children. Sue is survived by her husband, Jack Howard of Talking Rock; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher Scott and Anna Howard of Canton; daughter and son-in-law, Jacquelyn Lynette Howard and Bill Fleming of Blue Ridge; son and daughter-in-law, Mathew Winston and Nathalie Howard of Canton; daughter, Kimberly Ruth Howard of Jasper; sister, Ann Ashley Powell of Dayton, Ohio; grandchildren, Hayden Howard, Camalyn Howard, Kellen Howard, Vera Howard, Selena Fleming, Aliza Fleming, Alfred Howard, Evan Howard; great-grandchildren, Rowan Rodriquez, Jensen Rodriquez, and Deliah Rodriquez. She was preceded in death by parents, Carl and Alice Powell; brother, Ray Powell; and sister, Peggy Powell. Funeral Services will be held 12:00 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2025 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Pastor Stephen Walton officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
