He was born November 27, 1983 to William Roy Smith Sr. and Donna Ann Smith in Jacksonville, Florida. Tommy had a deep passion for metal detecting and unearthing relics from the past, especially items related to the Civil War. His love for history extended to collecting memorabilia, carefully curating pieces that told stories of times long gone. An avid admirer of classic automobiles, Tommy had a particular fondness for muscle cars, marveling at their craftsmanship and power. Beyond his hobbies, he was known for his generous spirit, volunteering at the Ruth House, where he would spend countless hours fixing cars for those in need. His dedication to both history and community made him a beloved figure among friends and strangers alike. Tommy is survived by his mother, Donna Smith of Fairmount; brother, Billy Smith of Fairmount; niece, Haley Anders of North Carolina; nephew, Cameron Collum of Calhoun; girlfriend, Anna Moore of Jasper; best friends, Phillip Veazey of Mississippi, and Tommie Stone of Ranger. Several aunts, uncles, and other family members also survive. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill "Pops" Smith, Sr. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Fairmount Community Center at 11921 Fairmount Highway SE in Fairmount, Georgia.
