He was born August 31, 1944 to William Columbus Cochran and Gladys Pendley Cochran in Pickens County. Dan is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Cynthia Cochran of Flintstone; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Mark Maddox of Jasper; brother and sister-in-law, James "Jimmy" Charles and Brenda Cochran of Ellijay; niece, Kelly and Adam Prather of Jasper; great nephews, Micah Austin Prather of Jasper, Ridge August Prather of Jasper. Numerous other friends and relatives also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Cochran. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 20, 2024 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Watkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Long Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery at 746 Long Swamp Church Road; Jasper, GA 30143. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Friday, December 20, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
