He was born June 17, 1938 to Leo and Sara Dittman in Olean, New York. William was a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology and retired as a Mechanical Engineer. He was an active member of the Riverbend Gun Club. William is survived by his wife, Martha Delores Dittman of Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Tess and Rodger Davis of Jasper; son, Scott Dittman of Winder; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Sara and Leo Dittman; daughter, Jennifer Dittman; and brother, Carl Dittman. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Georgia Mountains Hospice in his memory. Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
