William was born in Marble, North Carolina on April 23, 1941 to Clarence and Annie Mae Dorsey Jones. William is survived by his wife, Virginia Jones of Jasper; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Kelly Jones of Tate; daughter and son-in-law, Michele and David Mullinax of Hill City; grandchildren, Jeremy and Laura Jones of Hinton, and Daniel Mullinax of Hill City; step children, Greg and Sarah Jones of Hinton and Angie Weaver and Jason Weaver of Hill City. Several other family members also survive. Services will be held Monday, February 24, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Jones, Rev. Autry Dean, and Rev. Tim Pearson officiating. The interment will follow in the Free Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home on Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm and Monday from 9:00 am until the funeral hour .
