He was born November 15, 1947 to William and Louise Hawkins in Marietta, Georgia. He was married to Gloria Carney Hawkins and attended Cool Springs Baptist Church in Tate for the past twenty years. Bill is survived by his wife, Gloria Hawkins of Jasper; daughter, Kristy Hawkins of Marietta; brothers, Sammy Hawkins of Jasper, Johnnie Hawkins of Kennesaw; and sister, Bobbie Lou Hawkins of Jasper. Several nieces, nephews, and other family members also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, William "Red" and Louise Hawkins and brother, Bobby Hawkins. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2024 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Wigington and Pete Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery at 279 Wesley Chapel Road; Calhoun, GA 30701. Pallbearers will be Mark Fafer, Kelly Carney, Kenny Carney, Ron Holland, Jeremy Long, and Bill White. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Friday, January 5, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
